Back then, I was still dating Arman — who’s now my husband. This story is… funny, but also not funny? I don’t even know how to describe it.
So, Arman worked at this company, and he had a coworker named Fadil. Fadil also had a girlfriend, let’s call her Nisa.
Arman and I were one of those couples who had access to each other’s Instagram accounts. At the time, Arman’s IG was still logged in on my phone.
One afternoon, I got a DM. I checked, and guess who it was from?
Yep. Nisa.
At first she just said hi:
“Hey, Arman…”
I replied, just in case it was something important:
“Hey, what’s up?”
And then… she casually started flirting. Like… she was basically asking Arman to cheat with her.
I froze.
“LIKE… WHAT EVEN?!” screamed my inner voice.
So I replied:
“Uhm… this is me, not Arman.”
And instead of apologizing, she laughed and said:
“Ohhh, just kidding! Haha. Fadil and I planned this together to prank Arman.”
Prank? Really?
I knew for a fact that Arman and Nisa weren’t even close enough to be joking like that. Not even close to Fadil, actually.
Later that night, I told Arman about it when we were on the phone.
He was quiet for a moment, then said:
“Wait… she said it was a prank? But earlier when Fadil called me, he didn’t say a word. He sounded totally normal.”
Boom.
Told ya. I knew they weren’t “in on it” together. No way.
Part of me felt sorry for Fadil — I mean, his girlfriend was doing this behind his back. But at the same time… it really wasn’t my place to interfere in their relationship.
After that, Nisa started acting awkward around us. Clearly embarrassed. Eventually, she distanced herself from both me and Arman.
But in the end… they still got married. Yeah, Fadil and Nisa actually got married. And of course, I married Arman too.
My only hope is that Nisa has changed, and that both our marriages stay strong — and that nothing as weird as that ever happens again.
